Far from the safety and prosperity of the core worlds, players command a Nomad-class Frontier Runner and make a living on the edge of known space. Take freelance contracts, travel between remote systems, fight outlaws, haul cargo, mine asteroids, salvage wrecks and investigate the mysteries hidden beyond established routes. At the heart of FARLANE is the ship itself. It is more than a vehicle: it is a workplace, a home and the center of long-term progression. Players can leave the pilot's seat and walk through the ship, interact with onboard systems, meet their crew, prepare for contracts and manage the vessel between journeys. The frontier becomes increasingly dangerous as civilization grows thinner. Stations are scarce, law is weak, and the ancient farlane network provides the main routes between distant regions. Beacon-assisted travel offers relative safety, while Free Jump allows captains to venture beyond established routes at greater risk. FARLANE combines spaceflight, combat, exploration, freelance work and ship-based life in a handcrafted science-fiction frontier. THE NOMAD The player's ship is a roughly 50-meter Nomad-class Frontier Runner designed for life far from major population centers. Its interior connects the bridge, crew and rest areas, engineering, cargo bay and captain's quarters into a single functional home in space. The player is joined by three crew members, forming a crew of four aboard the Nomad. TECHNOLOGY FARLANE is powered by Blue Whale Engine, Siscia Games' proprietary game technology. The engine and its custom development tools are built and evolved alongside the game, supporting FARLANE's seamless relationship between ship interiors, spaceflight and its handcrafted frontier environments.
